Facts on Volume Loss
As we age, the fat that gives our face its youthful fullness gradually decreases and shifts downward due to gravity. This results in a loss of facial contour and volume, often making the face appear tired or aged. Alongside this, the internal structures that support the skin—such as bone and connective tissue—also weaken and lose volume over time.
Restoring volume helps to lift and reshape the face, enhancing natural contours and creating a fresher, more youthful appearance. It’s important to remember that volume loss is different from changes in skin tone or texture—all three are separate but equally important elements of skin rejuvenation.
The lost volume is restored with the use of soft gels. These treatments replenish areas affected by fat and structural loss. While laser treatments can stimulate some collagen production, they cannot replace the deeper fat or bone structure responsible for overall facial fullness.
