The Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser and Intense Pulsed light are both good options to rejuvenate the skin without any skin ablation.
Mechanism of action
Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser – The Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser is used in dynamic mode for thermal skin peeling and skin rejuvenation. This long pulse dynamic mode is almost painless and is a very gentle way to rejuvenate the skin with almost no downtime. The thermal peeling generates homogeneous and controlled healing, stimulates collagen formation and reduces erythematous appearance.
IPL – Similarly, the thermal effect of the IPL can stimulate changes in the skin thus increasing the production of collagen in the dermis. Some of the longer wavelengths in the IPL penetrate deeply to stimulate fibroblasts to lay out extra collagen, leading to a tightening of the skin, refinement of pores, and a reduction of fine lines. IPL treatment also modulates the local immune response, which makes the skin shrink and thicken. Therefore, IPL treatment increases skin elasticity, improves skin texture and removes fine wrinkles.
