DOCTOR
Dr Karwal (Ricky) is a General Practitioner with special interest in skin cancer management. He has 18 years of experience in General Practice and 10 years of experience in skin cancer treatment.
Ricky has worked relentlessly across Australia as a GP and finally decided to settle in Hunter Valley, NSW. He became a Fellow of Royal College of General Practitioners in 2011.
Ricky was drawn to the subspecialty area of skin cancer medicine when he learnt the growing prevalence and serious impact of skin cancers in Australians during his GP Practice.
Ricky completed an exhaustive training in skin cancer medicine and surgery from Australian College of Cutaneous Oncology (ACCO). He obtained a Diploma in Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery from ACCO in 2016. He is currently an Associate Fellow of Australian College of Cutaneous Oncology.
He has been working extensively in the field of skin cancer management since 2013. Ricky has also worked as an assistant doctor in the branch of plastic surgery in the past which gives him an edge in Cosmetic aspect as well.
Dr Karwal has completed advanced training in the use of Laser and Intense Pulsed Light for Cosmetic Practice. He has also completed advanced training in the use of skin rejuvenation treatments.
His passion towards skin cancer motivated him to open his own little venture with his wife (Dr Shalu Singh) who shares similar interests.
Ricky migrated to Australia with family in 2010. Prior to coming to Australia Ricky completed his Undergraduate Medical Degree from prestigious Manipal University (India) in 2002.
His discipline and commitment to patients comes from his training in Indian Army where he worked for 5 years and retired as a Major to pursue his career in Australia.
On a personal note, Ricky is a father of two beautiful boys. He is fond of playing cricket and adventure activities. He also has an interest in Guitar trying to explore his creative side.

Sara is our head Cosmetic nurse with over 10 years of nursing experience, bringing a wealth of clinical and cosmetic knowledge and professionalism to our clinic.
Sara has worked in skin specific surgeries for 5 years and has developed extensive knowledge of skin care. She has been with our team here at Elixir since we opened and her love and interest for becoming a cosmetic nurse has evolved from there.
Sara completed her Bachelor of Nursing at Newcastle and also completed her post graduate certificate in Cosmetic Nursing through Australian College of Nursing. Sara works closely with patients to understand their specific needs and beauty goals.
With more than two years of experience as a cosmetic nurse doing RF microneedling and IPL skin rejuvenation treatments, and a strong background in skin cancer management, wound cares, cosmetic surgical procedures and general practice nursing, Sara is thrilled to become a cosmetic injector.
Passionate about cosmetic injectables, positive skin outcomes and achieving quality patient results, Sara is committed to helping patients on their cosmetic journey.
She provides a variety of treatments including pigment removal using IPL, radio frequency microneedling, apillaries and vascular treatments using IPL, facials, chemicals peels, acne treatments, and more.
Sara is passionate in promoting good skin health as the foundation of beautiful glowing and youthful looking skin. She is experienced in doing lip fillers, cheek augmentation fillers and a range of non-surgical cosmetic aesthetic procedures.
